This is Lawrence Diehl, a resident of Waverly and a Virginia attorney for over 51 years. My wife, Pamela Diehl and I both strongly support S281 and the approval of a town manager government for our town. By way of background, I was part time Town Attorney for Waverly in the late 1970s and continuing until the late 1980s. My wife , Pamela, was the Town Treasurer for Waverly for over 30+ years until her retirement a few years ago. With the increasing specialization and ever expanding duties required to properly administer a town, a town manager is very much needed and I make that opinion on my continuing knowledge of the needs of our town and our future.
