More than ever Virginia’s public schools are losing focus on teaching core subjects (Math, English, Science, History, and Civics) that are an essential part of our curriculum. Instead many school systems and the teachers unions are promoting their own one-sided approach of political ideologies and beliefs onto our children. Please stop using our children as political pawns to get votes and support. What is even worse is encouraging the students to protest during school hours. No wonder there is an increase of private schools and homeschooling in the last four years. Furthermore, protesting outside of school grounds , etc place our children at risk for being harmed . Again, this another example of why most schools are failing standardized tests. We know the standards and expectations are lowered to ensure the schools are not in trouble with their yearly evaluations. There was a time not long ago when dignified teachers kept their personal opinions to themselves in the public school system. They gave factual evidence on both sides from a variety of valid primary and secondary sources. TikTok, Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, BlueSky, Instagram and other social media platforms are not suitable for our children.
