SB1023 - Consumer Data Protection Act; data controller responsibilities, precise geolocation data.
On behalf of the undersigned privacy groups and consumer groups, Consumer Reports submits the attached letter in strong support of S.B. 1023, legislation that would ban the sale of precise geolocation data. This bill will provide straightforward, powerful, and critically important protections for the privacy, autonomy, and physical safety of Virginians while still giving advertisers plenty of leeway to advertise.
