Advocacy for skilled nursing facility resident care for complex ID needs at Hiram Davis medical, Petersburg. Only skilled nursing DBHDS facility for intellectual disabilities including son Taylor Bryant. He cannot verbalize . He was forced from CVTC 7 years ago. His disabilities are related to premature triplet birth. We chose life over abortion the day of delivery 11 weeks early. Hiram Davis serves all DBHDS facilities including Sex offenders and psychiatric in the same place. Capacity of 94 beds, 2 resident upper floors, Aged infrastructure built in the 1970s. We need bipartisan support for a modern, Fully ADA building. Taylor Bryant was recently on WTVR about the legionella bacteria in water lines unresolved since 4 years ago. We received formal letter in April 2024. He cannot shower or wash his hair due to the risk of Legionnaires pneumonia. His room temperature was recently 79 in May. Saturday it was 75 with a fan. Currently renovations for 12 fire Marshal citations corrections and HVAC improvements. One hall closed at a time. Census was 45 on Saturday, June 15. SEVTC Chesapeake is the only Training Center open for ICF intermediate care ID needs. Capacity is 75 beds, recently census 66. No skilled nursing license there.
