I am in support of the second chance bill, as a victim. I do not agree with the prosecutors nor victims having the first say in getting into the courts again. Not all victims have forgiveness and some decisions may be biased. Some men and women in virginia department of Corrections have committed crimes as immature,young and dumb and those who have served well over 20 years deserve to be heard. Their are men and women in the system who have shown since the day they entered the system that their choice was truly the wrong one and will forever live with it. I have forgiven my perpetrator and I believe in time he to will change. Second chances are earned and putting the choice in a prosecutors hands does not always give that man or woman a "Second look".
I will stand on second chances and will contiue to believe that the system will change.
