I am very opposed to speed ticket cameras' use on Virginia roads. The ends do not justify the means, which circumvent due process for the accused. As technology creeps into our lives it is important we not forget the fundamental protections afforded by our constitution -- how might we confront our accuser then the accuser is a robot? What judgment and discretion might a robot bring to its task? Opposed, and this is a voting issue for me (and many others).

VLA is a trade association representing 300 businesses engaged in forest products, forest harvesting, and hauling. Commercial hauling is a core tool to transport forest products from the forests to mills. Changing the speed limit to prohibit commercial trucks out of the left most lanes will cause negative impact to our industry. VLA believes the bill if approved will create more safety and damaging consequences than the bill will cure. We ask you to vote against HB 1535.
