Please Vote YES on HB823. If a Medicaid Recipient has to be hospitalized, their attendant does not get paid while the individual is in the hospital. This bill will provide for an option to have a paid caregiver assist a Medicaid Waiver Recipient in the hospital with necessary supports, including communication, behavior support and intense care needs. Attendants who are home care providers are paid minimal amounts and must find another job. When the hospitalized individual comes home, they no longer have the attendant care they need at home.
