This bill would have originally required the owner of a stolen car to bring the tow operator a copy of a police report for that car to obtain the free release of that car. The Senate changed this to a report number, this does not always work I have a stolen recovery last summer I released back to the owner with a report number the car was stolen out of Hopewell. To date we have not be able to get a report number from Hopewell and have now given up on getting paid as we have been unable to get the police report. I ask that the bill be changed back to police report instead of report number
