Public Comments for: SB339 - SCC; cost allocation proceedings for certain electric utilities, definitions.

I'm writing in support of SB339. My neighbors and I should not bear the costs for high-load facilities. After this recent winter weather, my electric bill was more than half my mortgage! I'm a student working part time, so these high bills put a major strain on me. Anything you can do to help protect Virginians like me from paying the costs of these data centers would make a difference. I respectfully urge you to vote YES on SB339.

Nature Forward strongly supports SB339. This bill would ensure that the State Corporation Commission (SCC) has the ability to adjust the allocation of transmission costs for Phase I (APCO) and Phase II (Dominion) electric utilities to protect non-data center customers from rate increases driven by data center growth in Virginia. This is absolutely critical for protection of rate-payers as Virginia has an enormous backlog of approved data center projects, all of which will need power. Please vote “yes” in support of SB339 to ensure Virginians can afford their electricity bills.
