The National Parks Conservation Association recognizes the inherent sovereignty of Tribal Nations and supports tribes’ assertion of sovereignty through government-to-government consultation and management of lands. This bill enforces existing treaty obligations (1677) and Executive Order 82 (2021) to uphold tribal sovereignty and consult with tribes on development and protection of environmental, cultural and historic resources.
